From 4 April, the Con-Dem government has started a three year project to reassess all 1.5 million incapacity benefit claimants. The brutal Work Capability Assessment (WCA) is feared by many disabled people. About one and a quarter million people, now on incapacity benefit, will lose £25 a week. Because of sanctions and compulsion, many will lose all their benefits.
These cutbacks will cost lives, and plunge many individuals and their families into misery. It is the responsibility of us all to oppose these cuts, and support all those workers and others fighting to stop all the cuts. The magnificent demo of at least 500,000 in London has shown the determination across the country to resist! Many workers are now rightly planning strikes in order to save jobs, services and benefits which are threatened.

We will be leafleting the people going in for the ATOS tests, and displaying banners and placards to let ATOS know we are watching them, to inform the public and hopefully gain some media attention. All welcome. If you can bring a placard or banner all the better, but if not don’t worry, just bring yourself!
