Edinburgh Council promise end to “back door privatisation”

A news release from North Edinburgh Fights Back & Greater Leith Against the Cuts. Thousands march against cuts in Glasgow

Community groups, public sector workers and trades union activists were amongst those who turned out to march against public sector cuts at a demonstration in Glasgow on Saturday 20th October. Amongst them were members of the Anarchist Federation from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness alongside comrades from the Solidarity Federation and the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). LOCAL CAMPAIGN GROUPS DENOUNCE “BACK DOOR PRIVATISATION”

Local anti-cuts groups have declared that Edinburgh Council are responsible for the deteriorating service in refuse collection, and the blame should be put firmly on the Councillors and top management, not the binmen and other workers. Grim Future For Underfunded Care Services

Forcing frontline staff to bear the brunt of social care cuts is not a long term solution.
