Boycott Workfare National Day of Action 3rd March

Edinburgh Anarchist Federation fully endorses the national day of action called by grassroots campaign Boycott Workfare. Join the protest in Edinburgh: Assemble 12 noon, Hunter Square, Saturday 3rd March, to visit some nearby businesses using unpaid workfare ‘volunteers’ to work for free.  Workfare is a government scheme that makes people on benefits work for their dole. UK-wide Day of Action to Resist the Cuts to Education

Official: A4e “universal failure”

A post at Libcom highlights a mostly-ignored parliamentary report on the “Welfare to Work” programme run by A4e and Reed. Its damning conclusion: The programme, which was implemented by private contractors led by A4e and Reed, “universally failed by considerable margins to meet their contractual targets for helping claimants.” The report describes how “private providers’ performance was universally poor in helping claimants to go on the programme. Benefit Cheats A4e targeted this Wednesday

Fraud-riddled sponges off of the tax system A4e, who specialise in forcing benefit claimants into unpaid “voluntary” positions (featured here before), are the target of countrywide protests this Wednesday at 11am.
