Tues 22 Oct, 7.30pm @ Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh

What does it feel like to know that you are about to be killed? In 1997, villagers in Chiapas, Mexico sought refuge in a small wooden church to await their fate. Now, the story of the massacre at Acteal can be told. See Nick Higgins’ award-winning film “A Massacre Foretold”, followed by a Q&A session with people living and working in Chiapas.

This film is more relevant than ever as the paramilitaries who carried out the massacre have recently been released from jail and have resumed attacks on the population of the area.

Organised by the St Mary’s RC Cathedral Justice and Peace Group as part of the World Justice Festival.

There will be a stall from Edinburgh Chiapas Solidarity Group and the new Zapatista Solidarity Calendar 2014 will be on sale for 6 pounds – also available in ACE.
